What do we do?
Online School Surveys is a company designed to meet the needs of schools who want to gather information from their students, parents/guardians, staff, and community. We can also cater to smaller groups on your campus to get information on a narrow topic. Contact us for more information.
The main services we provide are:
- Online accessible student surveys
- Online accessible staff surveys
- Online accessible parent/guardian surveys
- Professional looking data tables to be used in school documents. Data can also be provided in an Excel or Word format so it can be easily integrated into self-study documents.
- Data summaries and data tables to be used by focus groups
- We can disaggregate the data so you can actually use it for making decisions about your campus. Disaggregated data can allow you to identify subgroups and concerns that may be prevalent in such groups.
- Questions and data presentation tailored to your school's specific needs
- If desired, we can provide suggestions on data to collect based on your school's standardized test data. The owner has experience with WASC having been both a self-study coordinator and a volunteer on a visiting team.

How does it work?
We create, execute, and organize data collected via surveys designed to gather opinions from people who are involved in the school environment. The client can choose questions that have already been written, change them, or add additional ones they want to ask. We take the questions, create a survey, host it online via the Yahoo! servers, collect the responses, and provide the client (the school) with the results. We are utilizing survey software made by Mercator Corporation which happens to include very powerful analysis tools. We want to work with schools so that they can make informed school-wide decisions.
Examples of work we have already successfully done:
- We collected 1400 student surveys from an urban high school. Data was analyzed, cross-tabulated, disaggregated and provided to the school so they could have evidence for decisions made in their action plan.
- Staff surveys allowed the staff to communicate their perceptions on the effectiveness of the staff, administration, and school as a whole.
- Safety questions are often a component of every survey.
- Parent/guardian surveys have been collected on paper and submitted by hand at someone at the school.
- Parent/guardian surveys have been collected via the computer, sometimes by ones available at the school site during a school function.
- A district-wide safety survey has been executed.
- Similar questions that show up on student and parent/guardian surveys allow us to see if there is a disconnection that the school can address. Re: parents wanting children to go to college vs students being aware of how to get into college
- Asked technology questions to provide evidence for technology grants- why the need is so great for the school to have more access to technology for its teachers and students.
- Worked with a IIUSP and a SAIT school to gather valuable information
