Online School Surveys was created to meet the need schools have for gathering data per mandate of NCLB or for accreditation. We intend to keep our rates affordable so that schools in any demographic location can have access to professional surveys
and the data generated by them.
The business owner, Melissa Getz, has taught in CA public schools for about 14 years. She retired in 2003 due to symptoms associated with Multiple Sclerosis. Unable to work daily in the classroom, but still wanting to be involved with her school, she agreed to be her school's Self-Study Coordinator for their WASC visit in March 2005. While preparing information for the self-study document, she saw the need for schools to easily obtain information from their stakeholders and still be able to use the information to make decisions concerning the school structure or climate.
When the MS made it too difficult for her to prepare for daily 90 minute classes, set-up and clean-up labs, grade papers, and provide students with real-world experiences, she chose to retire. Now she wants to work with schools who are anticipating a visit from an accreditation team within the next few years. Ideally there would be a three year cycle of surveys so that a trend line can be determined. If, however, you only have months or a year to prepare for the visit, it is not too late to acquire data to use in your self-study report.
